THE LANGUAGE OF LOVE

Image
Hello guys, its been a really long time. Gosh, I have really missed this. I am so sorry, but life happened. The last time we talked, i told you how crazy school was getting, it was really tough; final exams and then project. But as of December 2015, i was officially done, but then i needed some down time just for myself, abeg person gat rest now. I cannot come and go and kee myself because of book, lol. But, I'm back now and i gat you okay? Let's get to the business of the day, the language of love. So, valentine's coming up and somehow we can't hear enough of the love talk, everybody is talking of bae goals, gift ideas; there's a lot of programs marking the day, so on and so forth. First of all, the importance of love can never be overemphasized, and I do believe that love forms a solid foundation for every society. However, in my opinion much of the motive behind the celebration of Valentine's day is highly hypocritical and selfish. A lot ...

Anyway, my life has been super busy in the last week that I have barely had time to breathe. As you all know, i am now in my final year; actually I've been for a while and so I am currently in my laast semester in school (someone shout halleluyah). So, there's the pressure of being my best (God forbid I graduate with anything less than a second class upper), then there's also the hassle of project and I'm working on a project of my own to be launched pretty soon (rubs hand in anticipation), so y'all watch this space for that and then to crown it all up, I got a job! My  dear, when I applied for the job, make I no lie, I never thought it would be this stressful. It's a student ambassadorial job for Airtel Nigeria, so me think say na so so frosh I go dey frosh, I never expected that I would have to get people to sign up on...

LAZY BLOGGER/ 'F' WORD CONTINUED (PART3)

Image
Hello, people of God. How have y'all been? Though you may not believe it, I have missed you terribly. Do not mind me, I am finding out that blogging no be beans and buns. It takes a lot of time, attention and dedication and between school there is very little time left for anything else.  P.s: Am in my final year now, yay!!! Very soon, I go comot for this school. (*rubbing hands in anticipation.) So, firstly I do apologise for the absence I have been a very lazy blogger; I admit it. I still don't know how Linda Ikeji pulls it off. *sigh. I will improve, I promise. On our long story of "Celebrating the 'F' word", I still haven't forgotten. Today, I want to talk about 'FUN'.  Because ama linguist, I like dictionary definition of terms, so fun is any activity that's pleasurable, enjoyable and playful. There's always debate on what should be counted as fun and what shouldn't. Certain people will tell you they enjoy reading book...

CELEBRATING THE 'F' WORD PART 2

Image
Hiya , guys. What's up? So it's the day of the general elections and there's a lot of tension. Even me sef, I don leave school find where I wan hide my head cos I no want plenty story story. As promised in my last post, I said that I would put part of celebrating the f word this week and here it is. Do I hear a cheers from someone? Lol So, in this post I've chosen to celebrate family. Family, without me saying much is one of the most important institutions in life. It forms the building block and contributes the most to the shaping of an individual. Now, we all know these bobo juice, don't we? After all, we all did social studies in school. But, today am not going to be talking about all those formalities they teach you in school or in d movies. Am going to give a real take on what family is. I watched a movie not long ago and there were two brothers, with one constantly getting into trouble, and so the other was pissed at his brothers latest escapade a...

EARLY MORNING RANT

Image
Hello, people of God; how una dey? This is the earliest I have written a post but then maybe it's because am lacking sleep, was editing and typing till late into the night and am currently on caffeine which gives me one kind charge wey I no dey understand.  My dears, if I tell you say I know wetin I want write for here, ama be a big fat liar. I don't know what's up but I think I've been experiencing some sort of writer's bloc.  Now, I know blogging is not your typical writing but I guess it also affects this, so maybe I should call it bloggers bloc.  But seriously, I don't consider this funny in any way. I was supposed to write a commentary over the weekend (oh, sorry did I forget to mention that am currently on IT? Now its mentioned) but believe me, up till now, I've come up with nothing. I can't even think of a suitable topic to write on much less what to write.  So, has this ever happened to you? If so, how do you handle it?  Anyway, lovelies...

CELEBRATING THE 'F' WORD Part 1

Image
Hello guys, how are you all doing? I know my post title today might be a little unusual but don't sweat it, it's not what you think. A friend of mine once told me that some of the best things in life start with 'F'; I was like "really?", oya name some. Once he started naming them, the list just continued to flow, and we just started naming things like faith, family, friends, food, funds, fun and I was like, whoa I never thought of it that way. So, just thinking about that conversation a few days back; I decided that I should do a series on it and this is going to be the first in the series. On part 1 of "Celebrating the 'F' word" Part 1, I have chosen to talk about Faith. According to the Oxford English dictionary; Faith is defined as a feeling, conviction or belief that something is true or real, not contingent upon reason or justification. For those who believe in the bible, The book of Hebrews 11:1, it says "faith is the...
